"Etno" Editorial by Ula Koska

'Etno" editorial was inspired by the so-called 'spiders' made of crepe paper flowers. 

This tecnique was developed in Poland at the turn of 20th Century.

Phyllis Galembo's masquerade

Phyllis Galembo's passion for costume began when she was a child in Long Island (New York) and started to wear the colorful ensemble made by her mother for Halloween.

Then in 1985 she travelled to Nigeria to photograph priest and priestesses ritual clothes, and there she find her "way" in masquerade traditions and its diaspora. Since then she has travelled regularly in Africa and Haiti making portraits that document and describe the transformative power of the mask.
